The fella and I have decided to do a bit of traveling. We’ve also decided it might be nice to take the little girlaboutOtown with us. To heck with all the gloom and doom – we’re just going!
We’re going because life is short, and because we can. We’re going because we’re healthy, we’re grateful, and because we’re excited about some big decisions we’ve taken lately. Soon, we will be starting something new that will take us well beyond our comfort zone, so before things get slightly scary, we’re going to just go and enjoy.
We know there is serious stuff happening all around us, but we’ve got dreams for our future, faith in ourselves, and hope for a better world. We’re going to just do what we can, and keep on keeping on…
So, we did a bit of homework, negotiated our way through more than a few competing interests, and settled on a trip to sunny Southern California. A house near the beach. A place to read. Sights to see. Surf lessons. Shopping. The zoo. Ice cream. Sunsets. Coastal highway driving. Oh, and of course, Disneyland.
A little something for everyone.
The tickets are booked, the house rented, and the car reserved. Plans are all in place for our timely pause, we just need the passports and some patience.
It won’t be long now!
